I can't start this week's blog without mentioning this fantastic weather we have been getting and I hear there is more set to follow! As a bit of a sun worshipper I am in my element! So, I'm here to fill you in on what's new at the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport…..

The sunshine has brought lots of positive energy to our Kittyhawks Bistro. Our Head Chef Fintan and Sous Chef Colm have been driving a new Farm to Fork concept to Kittyhawks, sourcing local, seasonal produce for the new menus. The new concept means the Bistro needed some new blood and on that note I would like to welcome Damien O'Brien to the Kittyhawks Bistro team as our new food and beverage manager. Damien hails from county Laois and has an abundance of bar management experience. The entire hotel is really getting behind the Farm to Fork idea and is delighted to be supporting local. Our Kittyhawks Supplier Cart was a main feature at our promotion in the Pavilions Shopping Centre at the beginning of the month. It showcased all of our supplier's produce from scones & coffee to meat & vegetables, the gorgeous display caught everyone's eye and we are really looking forward to welcoming the local community to try the menu. Part of Kittyhawks Bistro's fresh look is a new uniform for staff which has gone down really well with the team. The salad bar has also got a lift with far more options available for the health conscious and we also have a delicious sandwich bar in the pipeline for those who prefer a lighter lunch. So….with the food almost sorted its time we turn our attention to the bar…actually I'll keep those sneaky details for the next blog!

Last week saw our second Wedding Showcase of 2013. With an amazing array of suppliers, Wedding Guru Blaithin O'Reilly Murphy and celebrity Make Up Artist Zoe Clark in attendance its no wonder people forfeited the beach for an evening of all things wedding at the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport. Guests were also delighted to see our brand new Candy Cart decorated for the evening, the cart is available for events at the hotel year round and is almost half the price of external companies- which actually makes the sweets taste even sweeter?!!!
