Just to let you all know I have recently moved from the Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel Westport to the Carlton Shearwater Hotel in Ballinasloe and what a start it has been for my new appointment. You really do hit the ground running in this business.
Wow......the Carlton Shearwater Hotel has been a hive of activity! With the Carlton Hotel Group as a major sponsor of the Internationals Rose of Tralee Festival we at the Carlton Shearwater Hotel & C Spa have had the pleasure of hosting a Rose Reunion for the previous winners of the Rose of Tralee, now in its 2nd year. Fourteen ladies joined us to celebrate the night they like to call a ‘sisterhood' reunion and it was a pleasure to spend the evening with these fantastic ladies.
The evening began with a beautiful candlelit dinner in the Marina Restaurant where the catch up began and in attendance we had Roses from 1961 to the present day To listen to the journeys, and what the Rose of Tralee festival meant to each of them, was just inspiring. The vision and experience through their eyes is one they will never forget. But the night didn't end there! We teamed up with a previous Rose Winner Muirne Hurley and Portumna Rugby Club to host a Fashion Show and show these ladies what the West has to offer! With fun and entertainment including the Childrens HAKA and the Goal scoring......and yes the roses took part! The night was glorious with a tear being brought to everyone's eye when our own Dáithí from Ballinasloe serenaded our 14 Roses with the traditional Rose of Tralee song! Magical!!
The morning after the relaxation has begun with everyone being treated to amazing Treatments in the Heather and Earth C Spa. I'm sure they will enjoy their morning of relaxing after the late night I'm guessing they all had! I hope to be back soon with some more news from Ballinasloe but I'll sign off for now!
Have a great weekend,
