The news this week has been all about election day and encouraging everyone to exercise their right to vote and go down to their local polling stations on Friday. Although I prefer to remain neutral when talking publicly about the election I can’t stress enough how important it is that everyone votes. I’ll be down to my local polling station as soon as I get a chance today and I’ll be making sure my colleagues take the time to do the same! As it is all about voting this week, I’m sure you know that we at the Carlton Hotel Group always like to get in on the action. At our recent marketing meeting I had heard the team mention an idea about a voting offer and I must admit I’m impressed with what they came up with. Playing on the ‘vote 123’ campaigns around the country we launched ‘vote 123 for Carlton hotels’ and are offering an amazing package for only €123 per person.
I was all about rugby last week so I thought I’d take a break from sports this week and give you some in-house news instead. The Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel had some new photography taken of their Ayurveda spa this week which turned out amazing. The photographer was so impressed with the results that he intends to post it on a great hotel photography blog which is great news for the hotel. Also this week we had a new addition to our sales team in the Carlton Dublin Airport Hotel in the form of Alison Reilly. Alison was the apprentice candidate for the Carlton Group and was hired to cover maternity leave in central reservations. Now that her maternity cover is finished she has joined the sales team in the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport and I wish her the best of luck in her new role.
I was sent a nice reminder of last year’s Rose of Tralee festival this week when I received a letter from Leanne, our Junior Director. Leanne won a competition to be a Junior Director in the Carlton Hotel Group and as part of her prize she received a computer and tickets to the Rose of Tralee. Her thoughtful letter was sent just to thank me for the prize and the tickets and definitely made a pleasant change to the usual post I receive!
I know I said I wouldn’t mention sport this week but just as a final note I would like to wish Ireland the best of luck in their game against Scotland this weekend!
