TV3 in Westport

Posted: 2011-07-06 09:30:00 Last weekend saw the much anticipated Leinster Senior Hurling Final between Kilkenny and Dublin and although we all thought Dublin were in with a chance, Kilkenny proved to be the better team on the day. I was hoping that Dublin would win the Leinster title but I must admit Kilkenny deserved their victory plus Henry Shefflin proved he’s back in form after being out with injuries! Kilkenny weren’t the only winning team on Sunday as my home county Galway beat Clare by a massive margin of 4 goals and 5 points. Hopefully they’ll make it to in a row in their match against Cork this weekend!

Following TV3’s visit to Kinsale two weeks ago, they are broadcasting another edition of Ireland AM live from the Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel tomorrow in association with Destination Westport and Failte Ireland. The Ireland AM crew will be filming in the hotel from 7am until 10am and the preparations for it are in full swing at the moment. As we saw with the Carlton Hotel Kinsale, this is a great opportunity for the hotel to showcase their property plus there will be a lot of other local businesses at the hotel that morning. Westport as a destination has always been popular but it’s still great for the community to get the opportunity to come together and sell their town as the perfect ‘staycation’ destination this summer. There will be everything from cooking demonstrations, ayurveda spa therapies and musical shows on throughout the morning so if you’re in the area it would be well worth stopping by. I’m not sure if I’ll make it down myself but if I manage to clear my schedule for the morning I’ll definitely be there!

Today is the official launch of the Galway Races at the Carlton Hotel Galway City and unless something crops up in the meantime I’m hoping to head over to Galway for it. I’ll be sure to fill you in on all the details in my next post!

go back

The staff are just unbelievable, every single one of them were fantastic. The food, I have never had anything like it. This should be a training facility for hotels and restaurants. I come from a business background so I know about staff etc.
