TV3 in Kinsale

Posted: 2011-06-21 15:00:00 Thankfully I wasn’t too busy at the weekend and was able to catch the hurling match between my home county Galway and Dublin on Saturday night. As a Galway supporter it was a hard match to watch but I must admit the better team won on the day and we missed out on a spot in the Leinster final against Kilkenny. Although I would have preferred to see Galway win I’m not a sore loser and I would like to see Dublin beat the Cats and go on to be this year’s Leinster champions!

Our main focus this week is on the Carlton Hotel Kinsale as TV3 are hosting their Ireland AM show live from the hotel on Thursday. The Ireland AM crew will be filming in the hotel from 7am until 10am and the preparations for it are in full swing at the moment. Not only is this a great opportunity for the hotel to showcase their property, there will also be a lot of other local businesses at the hotel that morning. It’s great to see the community come together to sell Kinsale as a destination and show TV3 viewers all there is on offer in the town. There will be everything from fish pedicures, bridal fashion shows and cooking demonstrations on throughout the morning so if you’re in the area it would be well worth stopping by. I’m hoping to make it down myself so I might see you there!

Also last weekend, there was a celebrity visitor at the Carlton Millrace Hotel in the form of Emmerdale star Chris Bisson. Chris stayed at the hotel as part of the Jim Phelan Cyclist Group and from what I hear they had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed travelling through the scenic Mt Leinster.
