Launch of Tralee Central Hotel

Posted: 2013-03-29 16:50:00 It’s been strange one this week as we’ve been preparing for the busy Easter period in our hotels but the weather makes it feel more like we should be preparing for Christmas! Thankfully though the snow hasn’t stopped families from travelling and our hotels are very busy with Mini Explorer breaks for the next two weeks. Our hotels have always been popular for family breaks and parents love our Mini Explorer’s Club as it allows them to relax and enjoy a spa treatment or meal while their kids are having plenty of fun in our club.

Last night I was delighted to be able to attend the official launch of Tralee Central Hotel, formerly the Abbey Gate Hotel. The hotel became a partner hotel of the Carlton Group in 2012 and following some renovation work we decided to give it a new name and last night was the official launch of the hotel’s new identity. We also used this opportunity to showcase the hotel’s new Fish Café which is becoming a very popular dining spot with locals and residents alike.

The night overall was a great success with upwards of 150 guests in attendance for the champagne reception. The Mayor of Tralee, Johnny Wall, was among the celebrity guests who were treated to a cookery demonstration by television chef and author Catherine Fulvio. James Sexton, MC for the event, ensured the evening ran smoothly and the guests were entertained by the jokes and mimicry of Cathal Costello. Also in attendance were members of the Royal National Lifeboat Institute as all funds raised on the night will be going to this worthwhile charity. It’s great to see so many people turn up to support a local business, I know I had a great night as I’m sure everyone else did!

No doubt you’re all looking forward to the long weekend and I hope you have a good one. Don’t forget to put your clocks forward an hour on Sunday morning!
