All Blacks win the World Cup
Posted: 2011-10-28 16:00:00
The big news in sport this week was of course New Zealand’s victory over France in the final of the Rugby World Cup. Although the French had been written off by many of the commentators and spectators, they definitely weren’t going out without a fight and played hard throughout the match, making it a great game to watch. The All Blacks proved the better team in the end and won with a score of 8-7 crowning them the ultimate winners of the World Cup 2011. Obviously I would rather it was Ireland claiming the title but of the two teams in the final I was routing for New Zealand and was delighted to see them beat France even if only by a small margin.
I mentioned last week that I was down in Kinsale for the relaunch of their Spa and Restaurant and I can tell you now that the night was a great success. I must congratulate the hotel’s new general manager, Anne Marie Kelly, and her team for all the hard work they’ve put in over the last while preparing for the event. The hotel looked great and the turnout was amazing so whatever they did it certainly worked! The Carlton Hotel Tralee are planning to open their new ‘Herbs & Roses’ by C Spa next Tuesday 1st of November with an official launch night to follow soon after so hopefully their evening will be just as successful.
Of course the focus today is on the Presidential election and although the winner won’t be officially announced until later tonight its definitely looking like Michael D. Higgins is well on the way to becoming the next President of Ireland. I won’t reveal who I voted for but I can say I wish whoever wins the best of luck in their new post and hopefully they will represent our country well.
Hope you all enjoy the long weekend!
