Here come the Roses!

Posted: 2010-07-08 10:00:00 Arriving in Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport on Sunday 15th August all the Roses will meet for the first time so there will be a lot of excitement and fun. The highlights will include visits to popular tourism spots including Kilmainham Jail and the Guinness Storehouse followed by a Carlton Corporate Night which is always a glamorous and often a late night!

On Wednesday 18th the Rose bus travels West for Ballinasloe, with a civic reception where the Roses travel on open vintage cars. Fingers crossed for some sunshine for what plans to be a great occasion for the town of Ballinasloe! Young local Rose buds can enter the poetry competition at the Carlton Shearwater Hotel and the winning Rose Bud will be in for a real treat! And yes it’s on with the cocktail wear again for Gala Charity Ball in Carlton Shearwater Hotel with over 400 people attending.

The next morning the Roses get to relax with a spa treatment in our C Spa, so they can look their best before they depart to Carlton Castletroy Park Hotel to meet this year’s Escorts, who I believe are a great bunch of lads. On Friday 20th the Roses arrive at Carlton Hotel Tralee, which will be their home over the Rose of Tralee Festival.  The Black Tie Rose Ball takes place in the Dome agin this year and lets hope it follows the success of last year when it was the biggest Black Tie Ball in Ireland with 1,500 guests.

The Rose Tour and festival is truly a wonderful time for all the management and staff, although everyone is busy and working hard the excitement across all the hotels is immense with each hotel trying to surpass the last Carlton hotel! All staff have an opportunity to meet and get to know the Roses first hand before they are on TV which is quite fascinating. I believe there has even been some gambling going on amongst the staff as to which Rose will win but I will have to stay firmly adrift this year as I am on the Judging panel to select the Rose of Tralee 2010.

As always, we have some exciting competitions and giveaways that I will be announcing here so stay tuned, we have given FREE Rooms to anyone called Rose, FREE Rooms to anyone who was 50 over the Festival week last year but you will love this year’s giveaway......watch this space!!
