Apprentice Feedback!

Posted: 2010-09-24 16:30:00 I did know this week was going to be a busy one but I wasn’t quite prepared for the amount of feedback we received on the Apprentice. Following the show on Monday night, we were inundated with calls from our business partners and customers congratulating myself and the Carlton Group on a great task. We were delighted and thankful to receive such a positive response to the show.I was also very impressed with the show and the portrayal of the Carlton Group on it plus I had a great time doing the spin-off show ‘You’re Fired’ on Monday night. I was a fan of Geraldine’s last year so it was great to meet her in person and I think Anton did a great job as presenter. I do believe Bill made the right decision on the night but I must say commiserations to Caha ...

Busy Week Ahead!

Posted: 2010-09-20 17:30:00 I must start by saying congratulations to Cork on their win against Down in the All-Ireland Senior Football Final yesterday. It was a close call with Down leading for most of the match but they were beaten by one point in the end which made for compelling viewing.I have a very busy week ahead of me starting tonight with the filming of ‘You’re Fired’ at the Wright venue where we’ll get to see who Bill Cullen’s first victim was. Then I have an early start tomorrow with an appearance on TV3’s Ireland AM first thing, where I’m really looking forward to get the chance to discuss the show again.Once I leave the studio I’ll be heading down to Athy to visit the National Ploughing Championships. This is the second year in a row that they&rsq ...

Carlton Hotels and the Apprentice

Posted: 2010-09-17 17:30:00 As I’ve already mentioned we are responsible for the first task on TV3’s Apprentice this year and as a result I’ve had a very busy week. However, it has all been worth it and I’m really looking forward to Monday and meeting the contestants once again. Be sure to check out the show on TV3 at 8pm on Monday as there are definitely some very interesting twists this year and it is a must view show. The spin-off show, You’re Fired, is being filmed in the Wright Venue this year and is slightly different to last year though as it is being presented by Anton Savage. I’m really looking forward to meeting one of last year’s contestants, Geraldine, as I’ve heard she is joining me on the panel on Monday. I’m also eager to find out who Bill ...

Cannonball Run

Posted: 2010-09-10 12:00:00 I did mention on Monday that I had a very busy week ahead of me with a new project and I can now give details on what it is that has me so busy. The Carlton Hotel Group is responsible for the first task on this year’s Apprentice on TV3. We’ve been busy all week getting everything ready for the show which will be aired on Monday 20th of September so be sure to tune in to see me in action! We will also be running an exclusive sale on the day of the show which I will give you full details on next week.Last year I took part in the first year of the Canonball Run in aid of Barretstown and it was such a success that I signed up for it again this year. The event kicked off this morning with a very early 7am start at Merrion Square where there were a host of celebrities chara ...

Tipperary are All-Ireland Champions

Posted: 2010-09-06 10:00:00 What a day to be in Croke Park! Both the Minor and Senior Hurling matches yesterday were amazing to watch and the atmosphere at the stadium was even better. Kilkenny narrowly beat Clare to become All-Ireland Minor Hurling Champions, finishing the match on a two point lead. Tipperary crushed Kilkenny’s dreams of the five in a row when they beat them by eight points to become All-Ireland Senior Hurling Champions. It really was a great match to watch and Tipp deserved to win as they were the better team on the day.Another great event at the weekend was the Electric Picnic Festival in Laois. From the traffic on Friday evening it looked like there was a great turn out and from what I’ve heard it was an overall success again this year.I’ve a busy week ahead of me as w ...

All-Ireland Final

Posted: 2010-09-03 18:00:00 What an amazing week we’re having with the weather! As with every other year we got an Indian summer the week the kids go back to school. Unfortunately like many others I was inside working all week so I didn’t get to enjoy it but hopefully it’ll last for the weekend. The talking point this week has definitely been the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final on Sunday. The Cats are determined to make it a five in a row but Tipperary are not going to give it away easily and will put up a fight for the title. Personally I think Tipp have a chance and for one thing the match will definitely be compelling viewing.I’m off out to enjoy what’s left of this weather but I’ll be back on Monday with my views on the match on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend! ...

GAA Weekend

Posted: 2010-08-30 10:00:00 It was a great weekend in GAA sports with three fantastic football matches taking place over Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday I was delighted to see Dublin beat Laois in the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Final in Carlow. It was a very disappointing day in Croke Park yesterday for both my native county Galway and my adopted county Kildare as they were both beaten. Galway lost to Cork by only one point in a very close All-Ireland Minor Football Semi-Final. And Kildare lost to Down in the All-Ireland Senior Football Semi-Final by another tight margin of only two points. I was at both matches myself and the atmosphere at the famous GAA venue was amazing. Although I was sorry to see Kildare and Galway lose I must say congratulations to both Down and Cork on their wins and best of ...
