New Road to Blanchardstown
This morning I took a trip over to the Carlton Blanchardstown to attend the official opening of the N2/N3 link road in west Dublin. The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar spoke at the launch in Blanchardstown this morning and I was delighted to get the opportunity to meet with him. It was interesting listening to him speak as he pointed out that “this new road is not only a link between two motorways and an alternative route to and from the airport, but it will also bring vital business to the area.” He also spoke about the exciting new employment opportunities that the new road is sure to bring, explaining that one local employer is already planning to develop a site along the road which will create new jobs.
The road works have been causing some mild disruptions to business over the last twelve months at the Carlton Blanchardstown Hotel but it has been worth it as we are sure this development will bring more business to the hotel in the near future. And of course it will make it easier for me to travel from the Carlton Dublin Airport to the Carlton Blanchardstown which is definitely a bonus!
The big sporting news this week is of course the RaboDirect Pro12 Final between Leinster and Ulster in the RDS tomorrow afternoon. No prizes for guessing who I’ll be routing for and with Brian O’Driscoll returning to the Leinster side for the match its going to be a great final! If rugby isn’t your sport then there is plenty of GAA action this weekend including All-Ireland Champions Donegal taking on Tyrone on Sunday, a game not to be missed.
That’s all the news for now, hope you all have a great weekend and don’t forget to cheer for Leinster tomorrow!
