Carlton Mini Explorers
As I mentioned earlier in the week, TV3 were filming Ireland AM live at the Carlton Hotel Kinsale yesterday morning and it was a great success. I didn’t make it down to Kinsale myself as I had meetings in Dublin but I did manage to catch a few hours of the show on TV and I was delighted with the footage shown. The hotel itself looked really well, of course the weather helped a lot, and I’d like to congratulate John McGrath and his team on the hard work they’ve done in preparations over the past week. I’d also like to extend my congratulations to our Group Director of Spa Operations, Sophia Weir, on her interview with Alan Hughes, I didn’t realise she was such a natural in front of the camera!
For the Carlton Group, the live broadcast gave us the chance to launch our mini-explorers campaign for the summer. During Sophia’s interview with Alan she gave details on our new kids club which is focused on healthy fun-filled activities for children that gives parents a break to enjoy dinner or spa treatments. Our new mini-explorers package is available in all 10 of our hotels and includes a two night break for a family of four with an activity plus the kids club, and all from only €269! With our new family break we’re offering great value for a staycation in Ireland this summer. It’s the perfect opportunity to book a break away that you know the kids will enjoy plus you’ll get time to relax and pamper yourself also.
Last weekend the Carlton Shearwater Hotel were delighted to welcome the Rose of Tralee committee and their very hopeful Escorts as they were put through their paces in the hope of being selected as 2011 Rose of Tralee Escorts. On hand for moral support were a selection on the very lovely roses as well as Ballinasloe's recently inaugurated Mayor "Michael Kelly" and the new General Manager of the Carlton Shearwater Hotel & C Spa Martin Daly. The event was a great success overall and hopefully there were some worthy escorts chosen!
The big news in sport this week was Rory McIlroy winning the US Open and in doing so became the 2nd youngest European winner of all time. This weekend I’ll be watching the Leinster Senior Football semi-final between Kildare and Dublin and will hopefully see my adopted county Kildare secure a place in the final.
