What a Great Week for Irish Cricket!

Posted: 2011-03-04 17:00:00 It was great to see the Irish Cricket team get such a fantastic result against England on Wednesday, it was like "Italia 90" again reading the papers yesterday morning. I'll be up early on Sunday to watch the game against India, it would be amazing if they could spring another surprise and if not hopefully they can power on and make the super 8's.

Another great victory this week was had by the Carlton Redcastle Hotel, who were voted realweddings.ie Ulster Wedding Venue of the year. This is a great achievement for the team up in Donegal and I've no doubt there are plenty more to follow.

On Thursday evening I attended the re-launch of Mercy's Restaurant in our Carlton Abbey Hotel in Athy. Richard and the team have really done a fantastic job with the restaurant, with some delectable dishes and a great ambience about the place and I'd definitely recommend a visit if you're in that neck of the woods. While at the opening, I managed to meet TD for Kildare South Jack Wall, and congratulated him on his parties success.

With the 6 Nations on a break this weekend, I will hopefully get the opportunity to watch Connacht against Benetton Treviso and hopefully Connacht will be able to achieve the 1st part of an Italian double with Aironi visiting the Sportsground this week.
