Happy Halloween

Posted: 2012-11-02 16:40:00 It’s always the same after a bank holiday weekend, back to the office Tuesday to try fit a full weeks work into four days. But I’m not complaining because it’s always great to get a long weekend, plus the week flies by when it’s really busy and before you know it, it’s the weekend again.

This week was of course Halloween week with the trick or treaters out in their droves on Wednesday evening. For those of you that do celebrate it I hope you enjoyed the festivities and the dressing up but I must admit Halloween isn’t really a holiday I look forward to! Besides the fact the bangers drive the dog mad, it’s a real sign that the winter weather is coming and it definitely hit us with a bang this year! Although it was fairly dry and sunny over the weekend, the temperatures dropped to nearly freezing and some are predicting snow this weekend. I heard there was some snow in Limerick and Kerry yesterday but lets hope it waits a few weeks before hitting this part of the country.

We can complain about the weather all we want over here but we are blessed we never receive the extreme weather conditions that hit other parts of the world. New York was ground to a halt earlier in the week as hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast of America. I’ve seen a few photos of the damage caused and it’s unbelievable to see the city of New York and its people in such a state. One thing I did notice today was a photo online of a house in New York with power, offering cables to the public to charge their phones. It’s a great act of kindness but it also just goes to show just how dependant people are on their phones these days! It will no doubt take the city a long time to repair the damage done and I wish them the best of luck with it.

It may not be a bank holiday this weekend but I hope you all enjoy it anyway!
