Galway Battle for All-Ireland!
Posted: 2012-09-07 16:30:00 I spent this week in Dublin as I had plenty of work to catch up on in head office plus I had a few meetings to attend to. Even though I was stuck indoors for most of the week, it was great to see the good weather back, although we usually do get a good week as soon as the schools start back. Hopefully it will last the weekend at least as I’m hoping we’ll get a nice dry day for the big game on Sunday.
This has been a very exciting hurling championship for me as I’ve followed my home county Galway all the way through. I’ve always been a big fan of GAA and follow the championship every year but this year has been a memorable one for me as Galway have made it to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final. They came up against the Cats already in the championship and despite the odds stacked against them, Galway beat Kilkenny to be crowned Leinster Hurling Champions. The odds are not in Galway’s favour either for this game but I’m confident they’ll prove them wrong and beat the team so many have called unbeatable. When it comes to facing a team like Kilkenny, believing you can beat them is half the battle and if Galway play with the same confidence we saw in the Leinster Final they will be taking the Liam McCarthy back to the West! We’ll just have to wait to see what happens on Sunday but I hope to be back next week announcing that Galway are the new All-Ireland Champions.
Hope you all have a great weekend and make sure to cheer for Galway on Sunday!
