Last week I was looking forward to the All-Ireland Final on Sunday but the game didn’t end with the result I was hoping for! Despite being the underdogs, Galway came on fighting and proved that they were capable of beating the Cats. Going into half time I really thought my home county could do it but Kilkenny came back stronger in the second half and the match finished up a draw. If Galway come back with the same fighting spirit on the 30th of September then they definitely have a good chance of beating Kilkenny! The post-match meal for the Galway team was on at the Regency Hotel in Dublin on Sunday night and I was delighted to be able to attend. There were plenty of Galway fans there to show their support to the team and of course we’ll all be showing our support again at the end of the month!
In Carlton news this week we are delighted to announce that our hotels were included in the Top 10 Best
Family Friendly Hotels around Ireland for the Primary Times Star Awards 2012. It is a great endorsement from families who enjoyed our
Carlton Mini Explorers Breaks, a unique concept designed and developed by Sophia Weir earlier this year. I would like to take this opportunity to say well done to all our management and staff and also thanks to each and every family that stayed in
Carlton Hotels. I know our team have put a lot of work into implementing our
Mini Explorers Breaks and launching it across all hotels so it’s great to see their hard work recognised with this award.
In other sporting news, there will be plenty of action in the
Carlton Hotel Tralee next week as the Listowel Racing Festival is on. The festival normally has a great turnout and from what I’ve heard this year is set to be as busy as ever. Plus this weekend in GAA the focus is on the All-Ireland Camogie Final as Cork take on Wexford.
Hope you all have a great weekend whatever you get up to!
