Family Breaks in Tralee - By Guest Blogger Brigeen O'Sullivan
While we have been in the eye of a storm here in Tralee with gale force winds & torrential rain it has been perfect for some - and not just the ducks! Kerry welcomed the Red Bull Storm Chasers to the Maharees just outside Tralee last week. Ten of the world’s best windsurfers competed in winds of up to 137km per hour and 20 foot waves. It just goes to show even in rain or shine there is always something to do in Tralee!
I am sure that with mid-term looming you are looking forward to having a break from routine - no more dashing around on the school run, lunch boxes or last minute searches for that elusive missing school shoe for a few days…….I am speaking from experience!! As a Mum to three young girls, I know what a challenge it can be to keep the children entertained during the bad weather. Luckily we have it all worked out here at the Carlton Hotel Tralee and have come up with a fool proof plan. Not only do we have our mini explorers club available during your stay but you will also have free access to the Aquadome, Crag Cave & Kerry County Museum. So it really doesn’t matter how bad the weather gets, there is still plenty to do during your stay with us. We can make sure you and your children will have a holiday they will never forget - just don’t blame us if it’s all they talk about for the next few weeks!
Make sure to check out our new Spring Menus while you’re visiting us. Chef Jason and his team have been really busy in the last few weeks creating and testing new dishes which feature the best of local & seasonal produce. I’ve sampled a few of the dishes myself and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them as much as I did!
Hope you all have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you in Tralee,
