Eventful Week at Carlton

Posted: 2013-01-18 16:45:00 For most people January tends to be a quiet month as they relax after the hectic Christmas party season but here at Carlton it’s as busy as ever. This month the hotels are really focused on weddings, which I suppose is down to the fact so many people get engaged over Christmas. Last weekend we had a stand at the Wedding Journal Show in the RDS and it was a great success. We got some great enquiries and also managed to confirm a few appointments with future brides to be so definitely a successful weekend!

Last night the Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown held a wedding showcase evening and they had a great turn out. Many of the newly engaged couples brought along their family and friends to see the hotel and from what I’ve heard there were plenty of enquiries and a few provisional bookings which is a great result. The Carlton Dublin Airport Hotel are holding their wedding fair next weekend so hopefully they’ll have similar success.

Also last night, at the Carlton Shearwater Hotel, they had an event of their own but it was a bit different to a wedding fair. The well-known popular comedian Brendan Grace returned to the hotel to perform as part of his latest tour. I didn’t make it over myself but I’ve heard it was a great night and the crowd were very impressed with his latest act. I was sorry to have missed him but hopefully I’ll make it over the next time he’s there.

In rugby news this week, the big news was of course the announcement that Jamie Heaslip will captain the Irish team in the upcoming Six Nations tournament. I wish Jamir the best of luck in his new role and hopefully he will be as successful a captain as his predecessor Brian O’Driscoll.

Hope you all have a great weekend, let hope this weather improves a bit or we’ll all be spending it indoors!
