Election Time

Posted: 2011-02-04 17:00:00 Unlike last week I wasn’t lucky enough to get to spend the week in Dublin Airport and instead ended up down the south of Ireland for most of it! As I mentioned a recently, the Carlton Hotel Kinsale are currently undergoing refurbishments in their bar and thankfully have almost finished. I was eager to get down to see the work completed so far and I must say I’m delighted I did because the changes are amazing. The new layout of the bar now makes the most of the stunning views Kinsale has to offer and I must admit I’m looking forward to enjoying a pint in it! While down in Kinsale I took the opportunity to visit the Carlton Tralee as I had a few business meetings in the area.

Following my meetings in Tralee I headed back up to Dublin Airport and luckily got to spend a few hours in the office. I didn’t hang around for too long though as the Carlton Dublin Airport Hotel was hosting a ‘Girls Night In’ on Thursday evening and although I’m sure it was a great night it wasn’t really my kind of event! I hope to spend more time around Dublin next week but with a few meetings still to confirm I could be around the country again. Although that’s when the ten hotels comes in handy as I’m never too far from a Carlton hotel when I travel.

On Tuesday the date for the election was finally announced and almost instantly the campaign posters were put up! Although with the gale force winds we’ve had over the past two days there seems to be more on the road then on the posts. Like most of the population I am looking forward to the build up to the election and listening to the debates amongst the politicians. With the way the polls have been changing this week it’s hard to tell who will win the election and could end up being a tight race but that always makes it more interesting to follow. Hopefully we’ll have a better idea of who should be elected to run the country by the 25th of February!

Unfortunately I’m not traveling to Rome this evening so I’ll be in watching the match tomorrow and hopefully cheering Ireland to victory against Italy. If you aren’t a fan of rugby you should go to the Galway Rally this weekend as it’s normally a great event.

Enjoy your weekends and be careful not to get blown away!
