Free Rooms for Dáithís!

Posted: 2010-08-06 00:00:00 Tuesday saw me calling into our Dublin Airport hotel as I had a few meetings in their new conference wing and I was delighted to bump into Katie O’Dwyer, one of the hotel’s duty managers. Katie left the hotel a year ago to travel the world, visiting such places as Thailand & Australia, and I’m delighted to report that she’s now back in Ireland and back at work in the Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport.

While in Dublin Airport I met with our group marketing team to finalise the details of this year’s Rose of Tralee campaign before its launch on Thursday. We had decided some months ago that as Dáithí O’Se is the first Kerryman to compere at the festival, we would celebrate by offering anyone called Dáithí a complimentary night’s accommodation in one of our 10 hotels located throughout the country.

While stuck in traffic on Thursday morning I was amused by the banter about our campaign on the Ray D’Arcy show and delighted it had been picked up so quickly. Hopefully this will generate plenty of publicity for Dáithí and the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

I’m looking forward to a great weekend at Croke Park and I’ll be cheering on my home county Galway as they take on Kilkenny in the Minor Hurling Championships. Enjoy your weekends and safe driving if you’re travelling to Dublin for the matches!

Posted By: Michael (2010-08-26 09:42:54) Comment: Hi Daithi, I've just checked with reservations and they don't seem to have your form. Can you contact them directly on reservations@carlton.ie and they'll get back to you today? Thanks!
