Blanchardstown & The Roses - By Guest Blogger Declan Curtis

Posted: 2013-05-17 14:00:00
Here at the Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown we are continuing to build on our reputation as the ‘Dublin Home to the Rose of Tralee’ in 2013. We were delighted to host a Rose of Tralee Mock Wedding recently, in aid of Chernobyl, with the charming 2010 Rose of Tralee Tara Talbot as the bride and 2012 Escort of the Year Ian Cullinane as the groom. Ian and the 2010 Donegal Rose, Maria McCole, were the driving force behind this fantastic event that welcomed a crowd of over 200 guests and some very familiar faces.

We are also delighted to be welcoming back the Dublin Rose Selection Night on the 20th June. I have no doubt that the event will bring out some very strong candidates for the Festival this year! Speaking of this year’s Rose of Tralee, myself and the team are also busy brainstorming about the 2013 Rose Tour to Dublin which will see this year’s Roses spend 2 action packed days with us here at the Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown in August. We had a fantastic evening here last year with the Taste of Dublin event and so I have high hopes that this year will be equally as memorable for the Roses.

One thing we do know for sure is that on the night our current charity of the year, Dogs Trust, will be a huge part of the events as we raise awareness and much needed funds for his very worthy local charity. And in fact all the ladies in our team are very excited to be part of the Dogs Trust team at the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon this year. If you’re at the marathon make sure to keep your eyes peeled for our very own canine, Bruno, who is going to run it for the first time this year!

The Carlton Hotel Blanchardstown and indeed The Carlton Hotel Group are very proud of our partnership with both the Rose of Tralee and Dogs Trust and are delighted to be able to continue our Relationships throughout 2013.

I think that’s enough from me for now – hope you all have a great weekend,

go back
