Bedroom Gymnastics?

The big news this week is of course the Olympic Games in London and the opening ceremony tonight. There will be 80,000 spectators at the opening ceremony and an estimated 1 billion television viewers. I know I’ll be one of those 1 billion as there has been so much hype surrounding the event it’s promising to be memorable. I’m sure I won’t be the only one this side of the pond tuning in as we all route for Team Ireland, no doubt some of you have booked time off around the most popular events!

Here at Carlton we always like to keep on top of what is going on and run promotions or campaigns around them. As I mentioned last week we’ve just launched our Rose of Tralee campaign and there was no way we could let this summer’s Games pass by without a promotion. We are inviting couples to compete for the gold in Bedroom Gymnastics this summer at Carlton Hotels with Dinner, Bed & Breakfast plus a Glass of Sparkling Wine from only €99 per person sharing. This is definitely a promotion that might raise a few eyebrows and I must admit I wasn’t sure about it at first but after the success of our Valentines campaign it seems to work to be a bit controversial!

In other sporting news this week, Dublin were crowned Leinster Champions on Sunday following their win over Meath at Croke Park. Dublin shot two goals past the Meath goalie before half time and the Royals never quite managed to close the gap with Dublin eventually winning 2-13 to 1-13. This weekend my adopted county, Kildare take on Sligo on Saturday and as the favourites to win I’m hoping they’ll manage it on the day.

Who knows how long this weather is going to last so I hope you all get out an enjoy it while you can, I know I plan to over the weekend!
