Carlton Apprentice Awards

As I mentioned briefly in my post last week, we had the Carlton Apprentice Awards Night at the Carlton Hotel Kinsale last Thursday. For those of you that have been following my blog you’ll know we recently ran a competition to search for the new Carlton Apprentice, following the success of last year’s campaign. After a tough competition Louise Rennison from the Carlton Castletroy Park Hotel won the overall competition and became the new Carlton Apprentice.
The awards night in Kinsale gave me the chance to reward all the Apprentices for their hard work and commitment throughout the task. Not only did I present Louise with her prizes, I also presented certificates to all apprentices as recognition of the work they put into the competition. Unfortunately some of them were unable to attend but their general managers were there to collect the certificates for them. It was great to get the chance to catch up with the apprentices and find out what they’ve been up to since the competition. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish Louise, and all the apprentices, the best of luck for the year ahead.
The RBS Six Nations is back this weekend which makes my weekend plans all set. With France playing Italy and Scotland playing England tomorrow I plan to stay in to catch both games. Then on Sunday of course we have the all-important Ireland and Wales match which will hopefully have a better outcome then the result at the World Cup. I think Ireland will be successful in their bid to beat the Welsh squad but we’ll just have to wait until Sunday for the result.
