All-Ireland Round 2!

Posted: 2012-09-28 17:00:00 I was disappointed for Mayo that they didn’t win the All-Ireland on Sunday but Donegal did deserve to win so congrats to them. Although I was technically neutral for the game, being a Galway man I was hoping a county from the West would win but in fairness the best team on the day won!

This weekend I’m not so neutral though as Galway prepare to take on Kilkenny for round two of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final this Sunday. My home county, Galway, took on the Cats on the 9th of September in the All-Ireland final and the game ended in a draw so the replay is this Sunday the 30th. Galway played a great game against the All-Ireland champions at their last meeting and if they are on form this weekend then they have a great chance of winning.  They may have gone into the last game as the underdogs but after their last performance there is no way Galway are the underdogs now. It really is anyone’s game on Sunday which will make it all the more exciting to watch. Galway beat the Cats in the Leinster Final and I think they have the ability to go on and beat them in the All-Ireland!

In Carlton news this week there’s plenty going on at the Carlton Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick as the University of Limerick celebrate their 40th Anniversary this week. On behalf of the Carlton Group I would like to extend my congratulations to all at the University, enjoy the celebrations this weekend. Of course there was plenty of celebrating done last night in all the Carlton Hotels as the residents and guests toasted Arthur at 17.59 with a pint of Guinness. From what I’ve heard the partying went on until the early hours across the country so I’m sure it was a great night!

Hope you all tune in on Sunday to cheer for Galway…………let’s hope Liam McCarthy comes to the West!
